Nutsweet's Journey !
Rajan Bharvad’s journey began with a dream to start his own business after finishing a BA Hons in the UK. Arriving during the pandemic, his first year of studies was entirely online. To manage his expenses, he found a part-time job in a store, which proved to be an immense challenge. Seeking new opportunities, Rajan landed a position at a dessert shop in West London, despite having no prior kitchen experience. This job not only provided financial support but also introduced him to the art of making waffles, crepes, shakes, and coffee. Through this experience, he recognized the potential of the dessert business
After a year of gaining valuable experience in the dessert shop, Rajan decided to take the plunge and pursue his own entrepreneurial venture. He embarked on starting a tiffin service in partnership, a venture he was passionate about and saw as a promising opportunity. The tiffin service initially flourished, successfully delivering 25 to 30 tiffins daily, catering to a growing customer base. However, despite their success, they faced a significant challenge due to visa restrictions, which prevented them from securing a physical shop. This limitation hindered their ability to expand and stabilize their business. As a result, the partnership ultimately had to close the tiffin service.
While this setback was disheartening, it did not diminish Rajan’s resolve. Instead, it intensified his determination to achieve his entrepreneurial dreams. The experience, though challenging, reinforced his commitment to pursuing a business venture that he was truly passionate about. Rajan used this period to reflect on his goals and gather even more knowledge and insights. His resolve to overcome obstacles and his unwavering passion for the dessert business continued to drive him forward, setting the stage for his next bold step.
With a wealth of knowledge gained from his time in the UK, Rajan decided to take a bold step and start a dessert shop in India. This decision was not made lightly; it required leaving behind his studies and returning home without informing his family. The move was driven by his unwavering commitment to embracing this new risk and pursuing his entrepreneurial dreams. Rajan’s preparation and the insights he gathered from his experiences abroad were crucial in shaping his approach to this new venture. The skills and understanding he developed in the UK, from managing a dessert shop to mastering various recipes, provided him with a solid foundation to make this transition successful. His readiness to embrace uncertainty and apply his knowledge were key factors in his bold leap into the world of business in India.
The dessert shop in Ahmedabad was inaugurated on August 20, 2023, followed by a second opening on August 28, 2023. Since then, the shop has flourished, attracting over 21,000 customers and becoming a thriving success. This remarkable achievement marks a significant and successful beginning to Rajan’s entrepreneurial journey, reflecting the culmination of his hard work, preparation, and passion for the dessert business.
